| Water for the Kampung |
| On February 14th, 2007 the XSProject Foundation and its founder Ann Wizer celebrated its 5th birthday by donating a much needed and long awaited water pump to the village of our dedicated trash pickers. Many of these people, including Bapik Salim, the head of the village, have been with XSProject since its beginning in January 2002. During our relationship the members of the village have been forced to move three times and were living without a water pump. This meant they had to use a hand pump and only a single toilet. The money for the new pump came from the sale of Ann's art furniture and is a small way to finally give back to these dedicated and hard working people and to attempt to ease their difficult lives. |
